Last updated: May 21st, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how 4ever Labs Inc. (“Memoir,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, stores, and protects your information when you use the Memoir platform, mobile app, and related services (“Service”).
By using Memoir, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly, information gathered automatically, and information created when using our features.
1.1 Information You Provide: This includes name and identifying details; date of birth; email address; profile photo; family relationships and connections; stories, memories, captions, and written content; photos, videos, audio, and documents you upload; metadata associated with uploaded media; tags and people connected to your memories; privacy settings and account preferences; subscription selections and payment confirmations.
1.2 Child & Minor Accounts: Parents or legal guardians may create accounts for children, including babies. When you create a child’s account: you provide the child’s information; you control privacy and visibility; you are responsible for the child’s activity; you accept these Terms and this Policy on the child’s behalf.
1.3 Information From Your Use of the Service: We automatically collect device and connection information; browser type and OS; feature usage and interactions; IP address and approximate location; error logs, crashes, and diagnostics; and ad click identifiers (such as gclid, fbclid, ttclid, epik, rdt_cid, and msclkid) when you arrive via an advertisement.
1.4 Subscription & Payment Information: Payments are processed via Stripe. We do not store full credit card details. We may receive subscription status, billing dates, and payment confirmations or failures.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to create and display your memories, timeline, and profile; allow tagging and sharing with connections; support memory creation through AI tools; personalize your experience; provide customer support; send transactional notifications; maintain security and platform integrity; and comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your data.
3. AI Assistance
When using AI-powered tools: your inputs may be processed by trusted AI providers (such as OpenRouter, Anthropic, and OpenAI); data is used only to fulfill your request; AI does not independently edit or publish content; and AI may generate imperfect or inaccurate suggestions.
Your memories are not used to train general-purpose AI models.
4. Sharing & Visibility
4.1 Private by Default: Your account and memories are private unless you choose otherwise.
4.2 Public Accounts: You may opt into a public profile. When enabled, any logged-in Memoir user may view your profile, while individual memories remain private unless you share them.
4.3 Memory Visibility: You decide who can view each memory. Tagged users may view a memory if allowed by your settings, cannot edit or delete the memory, and do not gain ownership rights.
4.4 Third Parties: We share information with trusted service providers who help us operate the platform. These include Clerk (authentication), Convex (database and backend), Vercel (hosting), Stripe (payments), OpenRouter, Anthropic, and OpenAI (AI processing), PostHog (analytics), and Meta, Google, TikTok, Pinterest, and Reddit (advertising and conversion measurement). Providers may not use your data independently.
5. Cookies & Analytics
We use cookies and similar technologies for analytics and advertising.
5.1 Analytics: We use PostHog to understand how the service is used, including session data, feature interactions, crash logs, and aggregate usage information.
5.2 Advertising: We use third-party advertising networks (Meta, Google, TikTok, Pinterest, and Reddit) to measure marketing effectiveness and to show ads to people who may be interested in Memoir. These providers may set cookies to attribute ad clicks (such as gclid, fbclid, ttclid, epik, and rdt_cid) and to build audiences for retargeting.
5.3 Your Controls: You can manage cookies in your browser settings, opt out of personalized ads via Apple’s Limit Ad Tracking (iOS) or Android’s Ads Personalization settings, or use industry opt-outs at networkadvertising.org/choices and aboutads.info/choices.
6. Data Retention
We retain data while your account is active.
When you delete your account: data may be temporarily retained for a limited period (typically up to 30 days) for recovery; after this period, data is permanently deleted; some aggregated, non-identifying data may remain.
7. Your Choices & Controls
You can adjust privacy settings; make your profile public or private; control memory visibility; edit or delete content; remove tags; request permanent deletion of your data; and delete your account at any time.
We do not currently offer full data export.
8. Data Security
We implement reasonable measures to protect your data. All customer data is encrypted in transit using industry-standard TLS, and encrypted at rest using AES-256. We also maintain access controls on our internal systems and our database backend (Convex) replicates data durably across multiple availability zones.
No system is completely immune from vulnerabilities or data loss, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Children’s Privacy
Parents control child accounts.
Child accounts are never made public.
We do not knowingly allow children under 13 to create accounts themselves. Memoir complies with the U.S. Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA): we do not collect personal information from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent.
10. Legal Bases
Where required by law, we process data on the basis of your consent, performance of our contract, legitimate interest, and legal obligations.
11. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access your data; correct inaccuracies; request deletion; and restrict or object to processing.
Residents of the European Union and United Kingdom have specific rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Residents of California have specific rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know, the right to delete, and the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. Memoir does not sell personal information.
To exercise these rights, contact support@memoir.ag.
12. Third-Party Links
Memoir may link to other sites. We are not responsible for their privacy practices.
13. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy. Significant changes will be communicated through the app or email.
Continuing to use Memoir after changes means you accept the revised Policy.
